More than 120 ‘at risk” middle school students, annually, attend the agency’s Providence Interim Middle School, an alternative school for children excluded from the regular school program due to behavioral problems.

The Providence Interim Middle School provides a full academic program as well as support services such as individual, group and family counseling, behavior modification, comprehensive case management services, substance abuse intervention and prevention, and anger management programs.

The school serves fifth through eighth grade students for a period of up to 45 days of exclusion, at which time, students are returned to the regular school system.
