- More than 1.4 million pounds of federal surplus food are distributed, state wide, to food pantries by Providence Community Action. In Providence 129,184 pounds have been distributed this year. Unlike the food bank, which sells food to non-profits, this food is free and Providence Community Action pays for the deliveries.
- Providence Community Action also prepares Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets for our clients enrolled in other Agency programs.
